Black And White Nostalgia

Yesterday, 17th of October, my English teacher told us to spend her one hour class in the library. The time was spent on researching. As I was looking for a book, I saw a bookshelf twice my height and thrice my width. I opened it and a scent of crispy and new pages greeted me a warm welcome. I let my eyes wander until I saw a spine with a violent but mesmerizing title. I pulled it out from the books sandwiching it and finally saw the cover. I can’t help but judge the book by its cover because it was simple and dark and gloomy but it was empowering as if it has a spell around it. To Kill A Mockingbird it says. I borrowed it and I guess my judgment did not disappoint me. It was worth reading. Although I am not halfway to the climax, I sense that the story will be filled with valuable and nostalgic adventures. Every words I read brings back my childhood days. Ever time I read it I feel solemnity as if I am in the sleepy Southern town.I still haven’t figured out why it is entitled in a violent way but I’m certain that the title is telling me to prepare myself with life touching lessons and the means of reality.
Labels: book, Harper Lee, To Kill A Mockingbird

You see, I live life like a permanent marker. When mistakes are made, I try to cover them but I can't because the pen says,
"It's permanent and even if you hide it, it's still there." Before I forget, my name is Jasmine and the rest is historical and magical...
